New Jersey player wins $847 million Powerball jackpot
A Powerball ticket sold in New Jersey matched all six numbers on Nov. 4, earning a $847 million jackpot, the ninth-largest in the game’s history.
A Powerball ticket purchased in New Jersey matched all six numbers in the Nov. 4 drawing, securing a jackpot of $847 million. The winner can elect to receive the prize as an annuity or a lump-sum payment of $363.1 million, according to the Powerball website.
The winning numbers were 15-34-41-53-56 with the Powerball 21, and the Power Play multiplier was 2×. Powerball did not disclose the ticket holder’s identity or the location of the purchase, as New Jersey lottery rules allow winners to remain anonymous.
The jackpot reset to $20 million after the win and will increase again until another ticket matches all numbers. Over a million tickets won cash prizes in the same drawing, including about 25 tickets that earned $50,000 for matching four white balls and four tickets that won $100,000 for matching four white balls plus the Powerball.
The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7, at approximately 10:59 p.m. ET. Drawings are held three times a week—Monday, Wednesday and Saturday—and can be viewed live on the Powerball website.
