Voters approve most data-center limits in elections
Voters in elections approved ballot initiatives limiting or banning new data centers in most jurisdictions, according to The Guardian. Earlier reporting presented a mixed picture.
CNBC, citing Ballotpedia, noted that voters in ten states opposed 40 of 41 measures, with only a North Dakota proposal passing. Semafor reported moratoriums and bans adopted in more than 30 municipalities across nine states, while 404 Media said ballot proposals were defeated in the majority of races across more than a dozen states.
