Rockstar Announces GTA 6 Pre-Load Schedule and File Size for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
Rockstar confirmed that GTA 6 pre-loading will begin on November 10 for PlayStation 5 owners and at 12 AM GMT for Xbox Series X/S, with the full game slated for release on November 19 and a build size of up to 212 GB.
Rockstar has detailed the pre-load window for Grand Theft Auto VI, allowing customers who pre-ordered the game to download it before the official launch on November 19. PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro users can start pre-loading at midnight local time on Tuesday, 10 November, while Xbox Series X and Series S owners may begin at 12 AM GMT, which corresponds to midnight in the United Kingdom.
The staggered start times mean Xbox users in regions west of the UK will have earlier access than PlayStation users, with the reverse applying to territories east of the UK. Rockstar has not confirmed whether a similar staggered approach will be used on the release day, which is expected to span a 19-hour window.
The current build of GTA VI reaches up to 212 GB, a size that varies by console. On a 1 TB PlayStation 5, the game would occupy roughly one-third of the usable storage, while on a 1 TB Xbox Series X it would take about a quarter. A 512 GB Xbox Series S would see more than half of its storage used, and a PlayStation 5 Pro with 1.86 TB of usable space would allocate about one-ninth to the game.
Rockstar also indicated that physical copies ordered “code-in-box” will be available from 12 November at retailers, enabling customers with disc versions to participate in the pre-load campaign.
