TalkSPORT presenters Jeff Stelling and Ally McCoist said the VAR decision was a “dereliction of duty” after a clear handball by Jurrien Timber went unpunished in Liverpool’s 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Anfield. Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk had earlier voiced disappointment and criticised the VAR decision following the loss, Liverpool FC reported.

The Mirror also quoted van Dijk’s frustration with the officiating. Earlier, Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola said he would tell striker Alexander Isak to go down if fouled in the box after the penalty was denied, ESPN reported.
