Detroit Lions linebacker Jack Campbell hospitalized after injury in win over Vikings

Resumen

Jack Campbell was taken to a hospital following a tackle that left him motionless on the field during the Lions' 19-15 victory over Minnesota.

Detroit linebacker Jack Campbell was transported to a hospital Sunday after a tackle during the Lions' 19-15 win over the Minnesota Vikings left him face down and unresponsive on the Ford Field turf. The injury occurred on the first play of the fourth quarter when Vikings quarterback Kyler Murray threw a short pass to tight end T.J. Hockenson. Campbell and teammate Eric O’Neill brought down the tight end, but Campbell immediately went prone and did not move as medical personnel attended to him. He was placed on a medical cart and taken away for further evaluation. Coach Dan Campbell addressed the team after the game, saying, "I do not have any more information on Jack. We don’t know anything else at this point. So here’s what I want to do: We’re going to take a knee, I want to pray for Jack. Let’s keep him in our thoughts and prayers." The tackle appeared routine, but Campbell’s helmet may have struck the tight end’s hip, potentially forcing his head and neck backward.
