Samsung previews Galaxy S27 lineup with upgraded displays, chips and cameras
Leaks suggest Samsung will launch four Galaxy S27 models in early 2027, featuring brighter screens, enhanced privacy display, new 2nm processors and high-resolution cameras.
Samsung is reportedly preparing a four-model Galaxy S27 series for a launch in January or February 2027. The lineup would include the standard S27 and S27 Plus, as well as premium S27 Pro and S27 Ultra variants.
The Pro and Ultra models are expected to receive an upgraded privacy display that obscures side-viewing, along with brighter panels for better outdoor visibility. Screen sizes are said to be 6.3 inches for the S27, 6.7 inches for the Plus, 6.5 inches for the Pro and 6.9 inches for the Ultra.
Processor options may differ by region: the S27 and S27 Plus could use Samsung’s Exynos 2700 chip in Europe, while the Pro might be equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and the Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6. All chips are reported to be built on a 2nm process.
Camera upgrades are also anticipated. Both premium models may carry a 200-megapixel main sensor and a 50-megapixel ultrawide lens, with the Pro offering a 10- or 12-megapixel telephoto unit and the Ultra a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor with 5× optical zoom. A 16-megapixel front camera is also expected on the higher-end devices.
Battery capacities could rise to about 5,000 mAh for the Pro and 5,500 mAh for the Ultra, while 60 W wired and 25 W wireless charging may remain standard. The phones are slated to run Android 17 with One UI 9.0 and continue Samsung’s seven-year software-update promise.
Pricing estimates place the S27 Pro between $1,200 and $1,399, with the Ultra likely priced higher, though final figures could shift before release.
