Eight-Year-Old Boy Accused of Violent Attack on Six-Year-Old Girl at Panchkula School

Résumé

Police say an eight-year-old boy assaulted a six-year-old girl at Sanskriti Model School in Panchkula, causing severe injuries that required treatment at a tertiary hospital.

Police officials said an eight-year-old boy attacked a six-year-old girl inside a classroom at Sanskriti Model School in Panchkula on Oct. 28. A video circulating on social media reportedly shows the boy pulling the girl’s hair, striking her head against a desk, kicking her and striking her with an object resembling a brick. The assault continued after the girl lost consciousness and was found lying in a pool of blood.

According to a senior police source cited by PTI, the incident occurred in an empty classroom that had been locked from the outside. The victim’s family alleges the boy lured the girl to the first floor, claiming her father was waiting, and questioned the school’s security and CCTV monitoring.

The girl was taken to Civil Hospital in Sector 6 and later transferred to the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) for advanced care due to the seriousness of her injuries.

"When my brother reached the school, the boy told him that she was lying upstairs and left. Upon seeing her, my brother collapsed, overcome by shock. She was lying there, covered in blood, inside a room that had been locked from the outside," said the victim’s uncle, Fazil, to ANI.

DCP (Crime) Amrinder Singh confirmed the ages of the children involved. The family described the attack as extremely brutal and expressed concern over the school’s staff and security measures.
