Commanders defeat Eagles 27-10 as Daniels earns first win as starter

Resumen

Washington beat Philadelphia 27-10 on Sunday night, with quarterback Jayden Daniels throwing for 217 yards and a touchdown, while the Eagles fell to their sixth straight loss.

Jayden Daniels threw for 217 yards and a touchdown as the Washington Commanders shut out the Philadelphia Eagles over the final three quarters to win 27-10 on Sunday night. The victory gave Washington (2-4-1) its first win in more than a month and extended the Eagles' (2-6) losing streak to six games. Daniels recorded his first win as a starter since beating the Los Angeles Chargers on Oct. 5, 2025.

Washington sacked Eagles quarterback Tanner McKee five times and intercepted him once, limiting the Eagles to 268 total yards, including just 199 before the final drive. In his third start replacing the injured Jalen Hurts, McKee completed 212 passing yards without a touchdown.

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley scored a rushing touchdown but was limited to 30 yards on 13 carries, as Philadelphia managed only 91 rushing yards. Both teams incurred costly penalties; Eagles kicker Jake Elliott missed a 41-yard field-goal attempt after an illegal-formation penalty erased a previous successful kick.

Commanders kicker Drew Stevens contributed four field goals, including a 56-yard effort in the first quarter. Daniels connected with Stefon Diggs for an 8-yard touchdown in the second quarter to tie the game at 10-all, and Washington held a 13-10 lead at halftime.

The Commanders opened the game with a missed 55-yard field-goal attempt by Stevens and a fumble lost by Chig Okonkwo. The Eagles took an early 10-0 lead on Barkley's 3-yard run, but Washington responded with a series of unanswered points after Daniels recovered from a hard hit on the final drive of the first half.

Washington remains in contention in a weak NFC East, two games behind the New York Giants, despite a 1-5 start to the season. The Eagles will host the Giants next Sunday, while the Commanders will host the Los Angeles Rams.
