Elderly drivers hospitalized after separate skidding crashes in eastern Singapore
The Star reported on 7 November that an 81-year-old woman and a 77-year-old woman were each taken conscious to Raffles Hospital after their cars skidded and struck roadside structures in Katong and Geylang East Central, respectively. The incidents follow a string of crashes that began on 29 October, when a collision involving two cars and a motorcycle in Tampines left two people dead and prompted police to hunt the driver and passenger of a second car who fled. Subsequent multi-vehicle collisions on the SLE and the PIE in early November injured three people, including a Traffic Police officer, motorcyclists and other motorists, and led to additional hospitalisations such as a 64-year-old driver and two victims of a seven-vehicle pile-up, as reported by The Straits Times.
