Maya Jama reacts to James Acaster’s exit as BBC cites contestant welfare
The Independent reported that Maya Jama said she was surprised by James Acaster’s confession and departure from Celebrity Traitors, and noted that the BBC maintained contestant welfare as a priority. Earlier, Acaster revealed during the penultimate round that he was a Traitor and was subsequently banished after Michael Sheen led the Faithful’s interrogation (The i Paper).
The BBC later confirmed that contestant safety was its top concern after filming was halted when Acaster became upset in a semi-final round-table (The Telegraph). Acaster also told a podcast that a confrontation with contestant Ms Hall and an earlier confession to Jerry Hall were omitted from the broadcast (GB News; Radio Times).
