Nintendo announces worldwide release of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake
Nintendo's updated version of the classic Zelda title will launch Thursday as part of the series' 40th anniversary, receiving high review scores ahead of release.
Nintendo confirmed that its remastered version of "The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time" will become available on Thursday, rolling out gradually across regions to mark the franchise's 40th anniversary. The game has earned a Metacritic rating of 96 out of 100, placing it among the highest-scored titles of the year so far.
Producer Eiji Aonuma told AFP he felt nervous about the launch, saying he was uncertain how the remake would be received.
"I don't know how it's going to turn out, I can't stop thinking about it," Aonuma said.
Early reviews have been positive. IGN described the title as a strong remake that offers a rich adventure, while The Guardian awarded it five stars, noting that the development team successfully updated a celebrated 1990s game for modern audiences.
