Nintendo announces November 5 release of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake with global launch events
The remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will launch on November 5, 2025, with midnight store openings in London and Toronto and related anniversary merchandise.
Nintendo confirmed that the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time will be released on November 5, 2025. Several retailers are planning midnight launch events, including the Nintendo store at Argos Tottenham Court Road in London, where attendees will receive a replica Nintendo 64 box, and flagship locations in Toronto, Canada, operated by EB Games and Best Buy, which will host costume contests, trivia and giveaways.
The release coincides with the franchise's 40th anniversary, prompting Nintendo to roll out a special Nintendo Switch 2 – The Legend of Zelda – 40th Anniversary Edition console, a Pro Controller and a carrying case with a screen protector. Restocks of these items are expected throughout the first week of November at retailers such as Target and Best Buy.
Walmart, Amazon and the Nintendo Store have not provided details on restocks. Walmart previously reported an issue fulfilling special console pre-orders and offered affected customers a $519 digital gift card as compensation.
Google has also added a themed search feature: searching for “Zelda” or “Ocarina of Time” displays a Master Sword icon and a Triforce animation that mimics the 1998 Google homepage.
"Fans can expect a range of anniversary merchandise and in-store experiences designed to celebrate the game's legacy," a Nintendo spokesperson said.
