Trump rallies in Ohio as Senate races tighten in South Carolina, Minnesota and Florida

Resumen

President Donald Trump held a rally in Ohio while new polls show close Senate contests in South Carolina, Minnesota and Florida, prompting both parties to intensify campaign efforts.

President Donald Trump traveled to Ohio for a midterm rally, his 24th since the start of October, as Republicans aim to protect seats they consider vulnerable. The rally coincided with a flurry of campaign activity in several Senate races.

A new New York Times/Siena poll found Republican Sen. Darline Graham tied with Democratic challenger Dr. Annie Andrews in South Carolina, each at 48% of likely voters. Graham, appointed to the seat after her brother’s death, faces a competitive contest despite the state’s strong Republican lean.

In Minnesota, Democrat Peggy Flanagan leads Republican Michele Tafoya 54% to 40% among likely voters, according to the same poll. The survey, conducted by live telephone interviews, had a margin of error of +/-4.1 percentage points.

Florida’s Senate race shows Republican incumbent Sen. Ashley Moody ahead of Democratic candidate Angie Nixon, 50% to 44% of likely voters, with a margin of error of +/-3.9 percentage points.

House Speaker Mike Johnson told CNN he would seat all House Democrats who win their elections and said President Trump is “no drag at all” on the GOP’s prospects. Johnson also predicted gas prices would fall soon after the election, citing the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

Other campaign highlights include Vice President JD Vance’s rally in North Carolina, former President Barack Obama’s appearance in Atlanta, and multiple Senate candidates traveling across key states such as Michigan, Texas and New Hampshire.
