Colts fire GM, trade Pro Bowl players, lose 2026-27 first-round picks
The Indianapolis Colts fired GM Chris Ballard, traded Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle and defensive lineman DeForest Buckner to San Francisco, and gave up their 2026 and 2027 first-round draft picks, curbing their ability to select a quarterback, CBS Sports reported. Earlier, Indianapolis sent Nelson to the Seahawks for a 2027 third-round and a 2028 fifth-round pick while retaining other 2027 selections. The move followed a 2-5 start to the season and was part of a broader roster overhaul that also saw Buckner dealt to the 49ers, as detailed by Yahoo Sports.
