Jay-Z confirmed as headliner for 2027 Super Bowl halftime show

Résumé

The NFL, Apple Music and Roc Nation announced that Jay-Z will perform at Super Bowl LXI on Feb. 14 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.

The National Football League, Apple Music and Roc Nation said on Monday that rapper Jay-Z will headline the halftime show for Super Bowl LXI, scheduled for Feb. 14 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California. The announcement follows weeks of speculation about the performer, with earlier reports mentioning Miley Cyrus and Justin Bieber as possible candidates.

Jay-Z released a statement saying, "From ‘Reasonable Doubt’ to standing on the Super Bowl halftime stage, this has been a journey. Thirty years of music, work, and culture on the world’s biggest stage. This run continues to be a dream come true."

The artist has worked with the league since 2019 through his company Roc Nation, which produces the halftime show and selects its entertainers. NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell previously noted that Jay-Z would be invited to perform when he felt the timing was right.

Jay-Z, also known as Shawn Carter, is one of the best-selling musicians in history, with 125 million records sold and 25 Grammy Awards. Forbes recently listed him as the world’s wealthiest musician, estimating his net worth at $2.8 billion. Roc Nation, founded in 2008, operates as a record label, talent agency, clothing line and media production firm.

The performer has not confirmed whether any guest artists will appear, though his wife Beyoncé—who previously headlined the 2013 halftime show and appeared as a guest in 2016—has been mentioned as a possible collaborator.
