Kerala suspends four police officers, adds charge against judge in crash
The Kerala government suspended four police officers and added a charge against the Additional District Judge who owned the Mercedes involved in the fatal collision that killed motorcyclist Jayabalakrishnan, according to NDTV on 27 October. The Ernakulam Juvenile Justice Board had earlier granted bail to the judge’s 17-year-old son, who was charged with rash driving and causing death by negligence, Bar and Bench reported. The Hindu noted that the judge himself was booked under the Motor Vehicles Act, and NDTV later said the teen was arrested for driving the Mercedes at high speed and striking a street vendor.
