Football365 reported that Liverpool under new manager Andoni Iraola defeated Brighton 2-0 at Anfield, deploying aggressive pressing and forward-pushing full-backs, with recent signings such as Alexander Isak and Florian Wirtz playing key roles. The victory, secured by Isak’s goal and an own-goal by Pascal Gross, lifted Liverpool to fourth place in the Premier League, as covered by BBC and Sky Sports. Fantasy Football Scout noted that Florian Wirtz was forced off after twisting his ankle.

The Times said the match marked Iraola’s first home league win. Later, the Liverpool Echo quoted former captain Steven Gerrard saying the side still needed a defensively-oriented midfield anchor despite the attacking surge.
