Eleven Shot Near Tallahassee College Stadium After Football Game

Résumé

Police say eleven people were shot Saturday night near Florida A&M's stadium, including six children, and the suspect remains at large.

Tallahassee police reported that eleven individuals were shot Saturday night near Bragg Memorial Stadium, where Florida A&M played Arkansas-Pine Bluff. Six of those shot were juveniles, among them an 11-year-old, and five were adults. A 12th person, a grandmother, was injured while fleeing the area but was not shot.

Police Chief Lawrence Revell told a press conference that one victim remains in critical condition, three are in serious condition and the others are stable. He said the shooting appears to have followed a fight involving two or three people near the stadium, though it is not yet clear whether the football game contributed to the violence.

Detectives from the Tallahassee Police Department’s Violent Crimes Unit are leading the investigation and are searching for the shooter or shooters.
