Texas rallies from 21-point halftime deficit to defeat Ole Miss 34-27

Resumen

Texas overcame a 21-point halftime hole to beat No. 7 Ole Miss 34-27, with Arch Manning contributing two rushing touchdowns and a passing score despite three turnovers.

Texas erased a 21-point halftime deficit to secure a 34-27 victory over No. 7 Ole Miss. The Longhorns entered halftime leading 24-3, but Ole Miss rallied to tie the game before Texas reclaimed the lead in the fourth quarter.

Arch Manning scored on a short run with 8:04 remaining, giving Texas a decisive advantage. Ole Miss later cut the lead to seven points and recovered an onside kick, but without timeouts they could not complete a comeback. A last-second pass by Trinidad Chambliss was intercepted in the end zone, sealing the win.

"We made the key plays when it mattered," Texas coach said after the game.

Ole Miss attempted a 58-yard field goal after a series of short gains, but coach Pete Golding called a timeout and kept the attempt on the clock; the kick was blocked. Texas then extended the lead with a field goal by Gianni Spetic, creating a two-possession margin.

Manning threw for a touchdown and ran for two scores but also committed three turnovers, including a fumble recovered for a Ole Miss touchdown and two interceptions. Running back Raleek Brown carried the ball 23 times for 157 yards, providing the bulk of Texas' ground attack.

The win kept Texas in contention for a strong finish to the regular season, while the SEC remains tightly contested with several teams holding one or two conference losses.
