Multiple NFL teams show interest in Colts running back Jonathan Taylor amid coaching and front-office changes

Resumen

Several franchises are reportedly exploring a trade for Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, while the team navigates a recent general-manager dismissal and possible coaching turnover.

Several NFL clubs have expressed interest in acquiring Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor, according to a report from ESPN. The Colts, who dismissed General Manager Chris Ballard on Monday and named Ed Dodds as interim GM, are also rumored to be evaluating head coach Shane Steichen's future after a 2-4 start.

Taylor, 27, led the league last season with 323 carries, 18 touchdowns and 84 first downs. This year he has logged 122 carries for 492 yards and seven touchdowns over six games, bringing his career totals to 1,673 carries, 8,090 yards and 76 touchdowns.

"I haven’t given any thought," Taylor said when asked about his future on Thursday. "That’d be crazy right now, especially because we’ve got a great Minnesota Vikings team that we have to go against. I think it would be a discredit and a disservice to my teammates and this whole organization to think about what could, what should, what may be."

Taylor was selected by Indianapolis in the second round of the 2020 draft and has signed two extensions, the latest a three-year deal in August that averages $22 million per year, the third-highest at his position.
