iPhone Duo Does Not Pass JerryRigEverything Durability Test
Apple's iPhone Duo failed a recent durability assessment by JerryRigEverything, with dust ingress and screen damage observed during testing.
Apple's iPhone Duo was evaluated in a durability test conducted by the YouTube channel JerryRigEverything. Although the device carries an IP68 dust-resistance rating, testers observed dust entering the hinge through multiple points, compromising the magnets that keep the phone closed. A subsequent bend test left a permanent green line on the inner display, after which the screen stopped responding.
The outer screen, protected by Ceramic Shield 2, withstood a level-7 Mohs scratch, while the inner screen only achieved a level-2 rating. The inner panel's matte nano-texture coating was noted for reducing visible marks, but it was insufficient to meet the test criteria.
"I've been testing these folding phones since the first generation seven years ago – most do survive," said the tester, Nelson. "The iPhone Duo did not."
