Trump comments on appearance of male supporters at campaign rallies

Resumen

President Donald Trump has repeatedly remarked on the looks and physical attributes of men he meets during his midterm election campaign rallies.

President Donald Trump told a crowd in Durant, Oklahoma, on Oct. 1 that two men he had seen earlier were "handsome" and that he wanted to "give them a big kiss," while emphasizing that he was not "physically attracted" to them. At a rally in Ohio on Oct. 12, he said he examined the body of Sen. Jon Husted, noting the former football player's physique and describing his shoulders, feet and jawline. He repeated similar remarks about Husted in Kentucky a few days later, adding that he had never examined a man's body in that way before.

Trump also referenced the appearance of military leaders at a Kansas rally on Oct. 19, saying, "All these handsome guys, they're always great looking, these four-star guys. I don’t know if they get the job by their look?" In a press conference on Oct. 20, he recounted an interaction with a steel-factory owner, stating, "President, I’d love to kiss you. This is a very powerful man. I don’t want to be kissed by that man — but he’s a very powerful, strong man."

During a rally in Georgia on Oct. 16, Trump told Republican candidate Mike Collins, "If I’m casting a movie for a senator, I like the white hair, I like the big strong build — that’s what I want." He has also described other public figures, such as quarterback Jaxon Dart, as a "male model," and referred to a Texas congressional candidate as a "beautiful looking guy."

Political analysts note that Trump’s remarks on physical appearance have become a recurring element of his campaign rhetoric as he tours multiple states to support Republican candidates ahead of the midterm elections.
