Hulu's "The Dropout" viewership spikes after A24 documentary debut
Variety reported that Hulu saw a sharp increase in streaming hours and searches for its series "The Dropout" after A24's documentary "You Can See Everything" about Elizabeth Holmes opened in theaters. IndieWire said the film opened on 855 screens and earned about $15 million in its opening weekend, one of the strongest debuts for a non-musical documentary.
NBC News noted it became the top-grossing film on fewer than 1,000 theaters that weekend. Variety later added that the documentary launched an Oscar campaign while its eligibility for other major awards remained uncertain.
