Met Police drop investigation into adviser’s wife over Palestine Action post
The Metropolitan Police in London said on 18 October that the social-media post by Sarah Helm, wife of national security adviser Jonathan Powell, did not meet the criminal threshold and would not be investigated. Metropolitan Police had earlier said it was assessing the tweet after it mentioned the proscribed group Palestine Action, with officials noting Helm does not speak for the government.
Middle East Eye reported that pro-Israel organisations criticised Helm while Green Party leaders praised her. Al Jazeera and the BBC also reported the police review of the post.
