Tyler Ulrich, Southern Nazarene safety, dies five days after injury
Tyler Ulrich, a 21-year-old safety for Southern Nazarene University, died five days after sustaining a traumatic injury during a game against Ouachita Baptist on 13 October. Ulrich, a sophomore defensive back, suffered the injury in the Oct. 13 contest in Arkansas. The incident prompted statements from university officials and his family.
PennLive. com reported that this season another college football player, William Jewell running back MicahJo Barnett, also died after a game-related injury. The injury was described as a traumatic brain injury by multiple outlets, and the university cancelled the team's upcoming game while arranging a prayer service for the player.
