Val Chmerkovskiy suspended from DWTS, Alan Bersten to replace him
BBC Studios said professional dancer Val Chmerkovskiy will miss the upcoming Dancing with the Stars episode and fellow pro Alan Bersten will partner Jenna Dewan in Los Angeles. The controversy began when Chmerkovskiy posted a TikTok comment that many interpreted as a nod to a meme about judge Carrie Ann Inaba while defending his wife Jenna Johnson after her Super Bowl Night performance was critiqued, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Johnson later told reporters she was upset by Inaba's feedback and broke down backstage, receiving comfort from her husband, as reported by Page Six. BBC Studios said the post violated the show’s standards, prompting the suspension.
