Broncos quarterback Bo Nix downplays statistical dip amid early-season win

Resumen

Bo Nix said the criticism of his performance is a narrative and emphasized the team's positive start despite lower passing numbers this season.

Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix said the criticism of his play is largely a narrative that the media creates, and he does not believe his performance has changed. After Tuesday's practice, Nix told reporters, "Playing good and playing bad, it’s a narrative, and I think it’s honestly kind of something we make up. I don’t think necessarily I’m playing any different than what I’m normally playing."

Nix highlighted the team's 3-2 record and early-season momentum, noting, "We’re sitting here at 3-2 and having a good start to our season. There’s things we want to clean up. There’s things we want to fix. We’re leaving some things out there on the field but we’re finding ways to win like we did last year. I feel strongly that we’re going to continue to do that."

Statistically, Nix’s completion percentage, yards per attempt and passer rating have declined from the previous season, and the Broncos have dropped to 30th in total offense after ranking 10th the year before. In Sunday’s 23-17 victory over the Chargers, he completed 16 of 27 passes for 123 yards and one touchdown, with only one reception exceeding 16 yards.
