Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson receives two-game NFL suspension
Alaric Jackson will miss the Rams' upcoming games against the Cardinals and Raiders after the NFL confirmed a two-game suspension for an on-field altercation.
The NFL confirmed that Rams left tackle Alaric Jackson has been suspended for two games following an incident during the team's 37-34 overtime loss on Monday night. Jackson will sit out the upcoming contests against the Arizona Cardinals and the Las Vegas Raiders, though he may appeal the decision. An appeal would be heard by a panel that could include former players Derrick Brooks, Jordy Nelson, Ron Rivera or James Thrash, who would render a final ruling.
Video footage captured Jackson throwing a right hook at Bills linebacker Bradley Chubb after an exchange at midfield, where Jackson was seen swapping jerseys with Bills defensive lineman Deone Walker. Rams tight end Colby Parkinson intervened and pulled Jackson away. After the game, Chubb described the incident as “just emotions.”
Jackson, who has started all five games this season and missed only one game last year, will be unavailable for the next two matchups pending the league's disciplinary process.
