Milwaukee Brewers Reach World Series After Sweeping Dodgers in NLCS

Resumen

The Brewers advanced to the World Series for the first time since 1982 by sweeping the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Championship Series, marking a turnaround from the previous year's loss.

The Milwaukee Brewers clinched a spot in the World Series after defeating the Los Angeles Dodgers in a four-game sweep of the National League Championship Series. The victory reverses the outcome of the 2025 NLCS, when the Dodgers eliminated Milwaukee in a sweep.

Brewers president of baseball operations Matt Arnold said the team had learned from the previous loss and emphasized the need for resilience. > "The series prior to playing the Dodgers last year took a lot out of us. I think Murph has talked about that a lot. Same thing with the Padres. That's just part of it. So we're going to have to be resilient here. I think this group is another level advanced from that. They've been through a lot."

NLCS MVP Jake Bauers described the earlier defeat as motivation for the current campaign. > "Watching the way they carried themselves on the field after sweeping us last year was a little bit eye-opening. It was something that I remembered and used as motivation to keep going."

Manager Pat Murphy highlighted the team's performance relative to preseason expectations. > "There were a lot of people that picked them to be 82 wins, 83 wins, and I think we're at 110 and counting. It just goes to show you the group that's in the room. They bought into each other. They bought into the team."

Milwaukee has reached the postseason in eight of the past nine seasons, averaging 94 wins over the last eight full seasons and earning the No. 1 seed in back-to-back years. The club also leads the playoffs in several offensive categories, including home runs, slugging percentage and OPS.

Second baseman Brice Turang stressed the importance of teamwork in the postseason. > "You can't win this game by yourself. You got to trust in your teammates to get it done. When you play that way, good things happen."

The Brewers will host Games 1 and 2 of the World Series next week, aiming to add a championship to a decade-long build-up that has positioned the franchise as a consistent contender in the National League.
