Eagles coach admits decision error cost team win

Resumen

Head coach Nick Sirianni said his late-game call was a mistake that led to the loss and praised the team's resilience.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said he made the wrong decision in the final moments of the game, which he believes cost the team the victory. He told players he takes full responsibility for the outcome and declined to detail the specific play.

"I didn’t make the right decision, and I lost us that game. I put that fully on me," Sirianni said. He noted that the opponent’s use of timeouts allowed them an extra play, and that the Eagles’ attempt to run the ball with three seconds remaining fell short of gaining a first down. "You would like to have it with 3 seconds left... They stopped us there, and we weren’t able to do that. In that situation, them holding onto their timeouts helped them to get that last play, but it should have never came down to that," he explained. Despite the loss, Sirianni highlighted the team's mental and physical toughness, saying the players fought hard and recovered quickly after a previous defeat. He said the coaching staff will review the game tape for further improvements.
