Eagles coach admits mistake after Jaguars win with last-second field goal in London

Resumen

Philadelphia lost 19-17 after a kickoff decision set up a 57-yard field goal by Cam Little, and head coach Nick Sirianni said he made the wrong call in the final seconds.

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni said he was responsible for the decision that led to the team's 19-17 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in London on Sunday. "I didn't make the right decision, and I lost us that game," Sirianni told his players, adding that he would bear the blame.

The Eagles had taken a 17-16 lead with eight seconds remaining after a 48-yard field goal by Jake Elliott. Instead of opting for a touchback on the ensuing kickoff, the team kicked to Ameer Abdullah, who returned the ball 53 yards and set up a game-winning 57-yard field goal by Cam Little as time expired. The Jaguars improved to 4-1, while Philadelphia fell to 2-3.

Elliott said he had little time to process the situation before the kickoff and followed the play call, noting that he hoped the outcome would have been different. "It was a tough way to finish," he said.

Jaguars coach Liam Coen praised the snap by defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton, calling it "right on the button," and described Little's kick as a clutch moment. Little called the 57-yard field goal the "coolest moment of his career," noting his background in soccer and the significance of making the kick at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The game featured two go-ahead field goals in the final ten seconds, a first in the Super Bowl era. Earlier, the Jaguars' special teams had a 90-yard kickoff return for a touchdown nullified by penalties, and both teams dealt with multiple injuries and ejections that affected their lineups.
