Oklahoma Upsets No. 1 Texas with Last-Second Field Goal
Oklahoma upset No. 1 Texas 27–24 with a last-second 47-yard field goal at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas, Defector reported. The Sooners won despite being outgained in total offense and after a series of turnovers, including two interceptions of quarterback Arch Manning that set up the decisive kick.
KOCO noted the victory snapped Oklahoma’s one-game losing streak in the Red River Rivalry. Yahoo Sports earlier highlighted the two fourth-quarter interceptions of Manning that led to the game-winning field goal. The Oklahoman had reported that Tate Sandell converted the 47-yard attempt after a defensive turnover late in the fourth quarter.
