Paramount+ Announces New Animated Series Set in Avatar Universe
Paramount+ has confirmed the production of 'Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos,' an animated series exploring the adventures of a Water Tribe Avatar from three generations before Aang.
Paramount+ has officially ordered a new animated series titled "Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos," which will delve into the life of a Water Tribe Avatar who lived three generations prior to Avatar Aang. The announcement was made during a panel at New York Comic-Con, coinciding with the premiere of another series in the franchise, "Avatar: Seven Havens."
The new series is described as a rebellious teenage Avatar who defies centuries of tradition by embarking on globetrotting adventures to master the four elements, while navigating challenges posed by an angry teacher, pirates, and chaotic spirits. Bryan Konietzko, co-creator of the original series alongside Michael Dante DiMartino, will serve as the showrunner, with production handled by Avatar Studios and Nickelodeon Animation Studios.
During the Comic-Con panel, which was moderated by Janet Varney, the voice of Korra, it was also announced that "Avatar: Seven Havens" has been renewed for two additional seasons. Development details for "Avatar Kuruk: Wave of Chaos" were initially reported by Knight Edge Media.
