Trump rallies in Syracuse, drawing supporters and protesters
President Donald Trump held a campaign rally at the Oncenter in Syracuse on 7 October, drawing thousands of supporters and a comparable number of protesters. Syracuse police said they would not release specific road-closure information for the event, urging drivers to expect delays.
The rally was announced to feature Republican gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman, but only four of the 16 local GOP candidates said they would attend, citing work and family commitments. Fox News reported that Trump backed Blakeman, promising lower taxes, cheaper energy and increased public safety if Republicans win state offices.
