Seahawks drop plan to sign Joe Mixon after failed physical

Sport

On 6 October, the Seattle Seahawks announced they would not sign veteran running back Joe Mixon after he failed a physical, and said they would instead look for another player from a practice squad. The decision followed a 5 October move that added Mixon to the practice squad when injuries to rookie Jadarian Price and Zach Charbonnet left the backfield thin, and earlier reports that Mixon was scheduled to work out with Seattle while the Houston Texans had not set a timetable for his return after foot surgeries.
