49ers top NFL Power Rankings as Packers rise ten spots
The San Francisco 49ers lead the latest NFL power rankings after a 5-0 start, while the Green Bay Packers move up ten positions.
San Francisco remains at the summit of the latest NFL power rankings following a 5-0 start to the 2026 season, highlighted by a 30-13 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night. The 49ers' defense forced four turnovers, including a recovered fumble for a touchdown, and recorded five sacks, the most in a single game since 2024, despite the absence of star pass rusher Nick Bosa.
First-year defensive coordinator Raheem Morris has implemented a more aggressive scheme, resulting in increased takeaways and pressure, while head coach Kyle Shanahan’s offense, led by quarterback Brock Purdy, continues to perform at an MVP-caliber level.
"Going to Seattle and beating the defending champions sends a loud message to the rest of the league," the analyst noted.
Shanahan, who has yet to capture a Super Bowl title, previously came close when his Jimmy Garoppolo-led team lost a lead in Super Bowl LVIII. The analyst suggested that a healthy roster could give Shanahan a realistic chance to win the championship this season.
In the lower tier of the rankings, the Miami Dolphins remain at the bottom, while the Tennessee Titans occupy the second-to-last spot, both still seeking their first victory of the year.
