FBI Director Kash Patel Announces Engagement Amid Ongoing Legal Disputes
FBI Director Kash Patel and his girlfriend, country singer Alexis Wilkins, announced their engagement, while Wilkins continues to face multiple defamation lawsuits.
FBI Director Kash Patel, 46, and his 27-year-old girlfriend, country singer Alexis Wilkins, confirmed their engagement on Sunday, sharing a photo of Wilkins' ring and noting that they have involved law enforcement in the matter. The couple, who began dating in 2023, have been the subject of public scrutiny, with reports that Patel used government-owned private jets for personal travel.
Wilkins has filed several defamation lawsuits against conservative commentators who accused her of being an Israeli operative. One suit against former Republican Senate candidate Sam Parker sought $5 million in damages but was dismissed by a federal judge in August for lack of jurisdiction. She has also sued a media outlet in Tennessee over a report alleging she asked her FBI security detail to transport friends after a night out.
The legal actions were initiated before the couple's engagement, and it remains unclear how marital privilege may affect the pending cases. The Daily Beast contacted Patel for comment but did not receive a response.
During a recent Senate Judiciary Committee hearing, Patel addressed agency hiring policies, stating they were revised to prevent discrimination against individuals he described as "victims" of bestiality, a comment that drew confusion among senators.
