The NFL will review an incident in which a line judge allegedly told Cardinals tight end Trey McBride a profanity after a non-call on pass interference, prompting criticism from the players' union.

During the Week 4 matchup between the Arizona Cardinals and the New York Giants, line judge Jeff Seeman was captured on a CBS sideline camera apparently saying "Fuck you" twice to Cardinals tight end Trey McBride after a missed pass-interference call. The NFL said it would review the incident.

NFL Players Association executive director JC Tretter called the alleged language "unacceptable" and urged the league to hold officials to the same standards applied to players.

CBS reporter Aditi Kinkhabwala, who was on the sideline, said she did not hear any profanity from McBride. > "I was standing right there," Kinkhabwala wrote on Twitter. "What’s wild is that it all started with Trey McBride saying ‘please’ when pleading his case for a PI flag. He was heated for sure, but I never heard a curse from him. The harshest he got was, ‘You’re ruining the game.’"

The incident adds to recent scrutiny of officiating decisions involving pass interference. The league’s review will consider the video evidence, which captured Seeman’s remarks.
