Cowboys rally with late Lamb TD to beat Texans 34-30, Texans drop to 0-4

Resumen

Dallas overcame a late deficit as CeeDee Lamb caught a 12-yard touchdown with 40 seconds left, handing Houston its fourth straight loss.

Dallas secured a 34-30 victory over the Houston Texans on Sunday after CeeDee Lamb recorded a career-high 17 catches for 189 yards and caught a 12-yard touchdown pass with 40 seconds remaining. The win left the Texans winless in their first four games of the season.

Houston, which posted a 12-2 record last year, fell to 0-4, matching its worst start since 2020. Defensive end Will Anderson said the team must “bow up” and take responsibility, noting that “nobody’s coming to save us.”

The Cowboys, now 2-2, trailed 30-26 late in the fourth quarter before Dak Prescott led an 11-play, 74-yard drive that included a fourth-down conversion and set up Lamb’s game-winning score.

“Today was not a great finish by our team. Defensively it was not good enough,” head coach DeMeco Ryans said. “We have to find a way to close that game out.”

Houston’s defense, which led the league in yards allowed and was second in points allowed last season, has struggled this year, surrendering 343.75 yards and 27.25 points per game. The team led 16-6 at halftime but allowed Prescott to throw for 248 yards in the second half.

“We’ve got to play our technique better. In the second half it just wasn’t good enough,” Ryans added.

Quarterback C.J. Stroud addressed teammates after the loss, urging optimism despite the team’s position.

“I just wanted to get in front of them and let them know how much I believe in them and trust in them… we’re not in a good spot, but I have the utmost trust and hope in them,” Stroud said.
