Google launches Gemini 4 Argon for paid users with limited access

Resumen

Google began rolling out its Gemini 4 Argon model today, making it available to subscribers of its AI Pro and AI Ultra plans, while offering discounted API rates to developers through November.

Google started the wide rollout of Gemini 4 Argon, its latest AI model, on Tuesday. The model is being released through the Gemini app for users on the AI Pro ($20 per month) and AI Ultra (starting at $99 per month) subscription tiers. Access to Argon in the Antigravity and AI Studio products is limited to AI Ultra subscribers, while Pro users can still generate code in the app’s Canvas mode.

Google says Argon retains the same advanced reasoning and agentic coding capabilities demonstrated in benchmarks released last month. The company highlights internal uses, such as reducing YouTube’s server load by 45 percent through eliminating redundant emoji rendering and identifying long-standing bugs in the Project Wing drone-physics simulator. It also notes improvements in embodied reasoning for its robotics efforts.

Developers who use Google’s models via the paid API can purchase Argon tokens at a temporary rate of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with a 95 percent discount for cached tokens. These rates are set to double on November 30.

Google has not specified when the model might become available to lower-tier plans for the Antigravity product.
