Kentucky bourbon executive dismissed after family sues over alleged hidden-camera recordings

Résumé

Wes Henderson, founder of Angel’s Envy and former CEO of TKC Distilling, was removed from his post following a lawsuit alleging he installed hidden cameras that recorded family members during a stay at his Florida home.

Wes Henderson, a 60-year-old bourbon industry veteran who founded Angel’s Envy, was terminated as chief executive of TKC Distilling after relatives filed a civil suit claiming he placed hidden cameras in his Florida residence that captured them in private moments. The complaint alleges that the family discovered 15 devices, removed the equipment and reviewed footage showing intimate acts, undressing, and restroom use, and that additional cameras were later found in the family’s Kentucky home.

Henderson’s attorney said the accusations are denied and that the lawsuit is expected to be voluntarily dismissed, adding that the former executive is prepared to defend himself if it proceeds. No criminal charges have been filed.

Following Henderson’s removal, TKC Distilling appointed his son, previously the chief operating officer, as the new CEO. Henderson also entered an unpaid leave from his position as deputy coroner in Oldham County, Kentucky. The company announced it will conduct an internal investigation and pledged to handle the matter responsibly and fairly.

Henderson, a former firefighter, sold Angel’s Envy to Bacardi Limited in 2015 and later purchased the Kentucky Castle estate, where plans for a large-scale distillery have been paused amid the controversy.
