Michigan medical societies issue early flu, COVID-19 and RSV vaccine guidance
Medical societies in Michigan said they have issued vaccination recommendations for the upcoming fall respiratory season, urging early flu shots and updated COVID-19 and RSV vaccines, and highlighting protection for high-risk populations, as the CDC’s flu advisory panel remains tied up in litigation. Earlier, the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Infectious Diseases Society of America had advised that most Michigan residents receive flu vaccinations in October and update COVID-19 and RSV shots, especially adults, pregnant people and young children, noting the lack of new CDC guidance.
