Rick Devens Wins Big Brother 28, Securing $750,000 Grand Prize
Rick Devens was crowned the winner of Big Brother season 28 after a final Head of Household competition and jury vote, earning the $750,000 prize and the title of America's Favorite Player.
Rick Devens emerged as the winner of the 28th season of the CBS reality series Big Brother, securing the $750,000 grand prize after a three-part final Head of Household (HOH) competition and a jury vote. The finale aired Thursday night and featured three finalists—Taylor Brown, Drew Campbell and Devens—who competed in a series of physical and strategic challenges.
In the first HOH segment, Taylor Brown outlasted both opponents on a rotating log challenge. The second segment saw Devens defeat Campbell in a slingshot-based game after an early lead by Campbell. Devens then won the third segment, which tested contestants' knowledge of season events, by correctly identifying false statements presented by the jury.
As the final HOH, Devens chose to evict Campbell, citing a breach of trust. Campbell joined the jury, which subsequently questioned the remaining finalists on their gameplay. After deliberation, the jury awarded Devens six votes to Brown's one, confirming his victory.
In addition to the grand prize, Devens was named America's Favorite Player, earning an extra $50,000, and received a $10,000 bonus from a season-specific challenge, bringing his total earnings to $810,000. The show’s host announced that Big Brother has been renewed for two additional seasons, extending the series through at least season 30.
