Apple scheduled to unveil Siri-focused smart-home hardware at "Welcome Home" event
CNET reports that Apple is set to host its "Welcome Home" event October 13, where it expects to unveil a Siri-focused smart display, refreshed HomePod devices and possibly new security and thermostat products developed with LG. Earlier reports from MacRumors, citing Bloomberg, indicated the event would showcase a new smart-home hub, a second-generation HomePod mini and an updated Apple TV 4K, with an online keynote followed by a media hands-on session.
9to5Mac later added that the hub would feature a screen and that the lineup might be announced between early October 5-7, also mentioning a HomePad device. Additional speculation from 9to5Mac suggested Apple could unveil a foldable iPhone and new Mac models later in the month, though those items were not confirmed for the October 13 event.
