Warner Bros. film heads De Luca and Abdy dismissed after Skydance merger
Skydance CEO David Ellellison told Warner Bros. executives Mike De Luca and Pam Abdy on 1 October that they would be removed from the merged Warner-Paramount studio as part of a debt-related restructuring. The dismissals follow a series of leadership changes triggered by the $110 billion Paramount-Skydance merger.
Earlier, Paramount Skydance’s streaming chief Cindy Holland departed, and HBO executive Casey Bloys was appointed to oversee the combined HBO Max and Paramount+ services, later suggesting a bundled offering rather than a full platform merger. These moves come as the companies integrate their film and streaming operations, with Paramount film heads set to oversee both studios and Bloys indicating that a bundle of the two streaming services is more likely than a complete merger.
