Warner Bros. executives Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy set to leave after Paramount-Skydance merger

Resumen

Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy will exit Warner Bros. Discovery's leadership when the $110 billion Paramount-Skydance merger closes, with Paramount film heads slated to oversee both studios.

Michael De Luca and Pamela Abdy will depart Warner Bros. Discovery’s senior management after the company completes its merger with Paramount’s Skydance division. The $110 billion transaction is expected to close on Oct. 6, at which point Paramount film executives Dana Goldberg and Josh Greenstein are reported to assume oversight of both studios, each slated to release about 30 films annually. It is not yet clear whether De Luca and Abdy will remain for a transition period.

The announcement follows a renewal of their contracts announced roughly a year earlier, after Warner Bros. reported strong box-office performance and a record-tying tally of Academy Award nominations and wins. Details of the new leadership structure remain limited; while Cindy Holland has left Paramount+, the company has not confirmed whether Casey Bloys will take the top streaming role. Former Mattel CEO Ynon Kriez has been named co-CEO to manage day-to-day operations and integration.

Paramount and Warner Bros. did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
