Yankees omit Aaron Judge from AL Division Series roster as he recovers from calf strain
The New York Yankees submitted a 26-man roster for the American League Division Series against the Tampa Bay Rays that excluded right fielder Aaron Judge, citing an unresolved right calf strain, MLB. com reported. The roster also featured the activation of Giancarlo Stanton and the addition of pitcher Ryan Weathers, and Judge remained eligible for later rounds.
Judge had previously been left off the Yankees' Wild Card roster, with Stanton activated in his place, as reported by ESPN and Pinstripe Alley. Manager Aaron Boone had earlier confirmed Judge's calf issue and outlined the pitching assignments for the series.
