Stars Turn Up the Heat with Bold Outfits at 2026 MTV Video Music Awards
The 2026 MTV Video Music Awards red carpet featured a parade of unconventional fashion choices, while host Snoop Dogg highlighted the event's return to the West Coast.
Los Angeles hosted the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday, marking the ceremony's first return to the West Coast in nine years. The red carpet was dominated by daring ensembles, including leopard prints, pink shirts emblazoned with "Madonna" and bright red Adidas shoes, contrasting with the more restrained looks seen at recent Emmy events.
Snoop Dogg served as host and noted the personal significance of the gig, saying, "MTV and the VMAs have been part of my story since the beginning. Some of the biggest moments of my career happened on that stage and on MTV — they gave hip hop a place to be loud, fearless and seen by the whole world. So to come back now and host the VMAs, all these years later, that's a full-circle moment for me."
Anticipation grew around a possible appearance by Taylor Swift, who has not attended the ceremony since marrying Travis Kelce in July. Swift is nominated for nine awards, second only to Madonna, who leads with eleven nominations.
The event showcased a wide array of celebrity looks, from Bob the Drag Queen and Monét X Change to veteran performers such as Kel Mitchell, reflecting the VMAs' reputation for flamboyant and boundary-pushing fashion.
