The International squad won all five foursomes matches on Friday at Medinah, taking a 7-3 lead over the United States and matching its largest two-session advantage since 1998.

The International team captured every foursomes match on Friday at Medinah Country Club, giving them a 7-3 advantage over the United States heading into the weekend of the Presidents Cup. It was the seventh session sweep in the event’s history and the first since the Internationals did so in 2024, tying the largest two-session lead the International side has ever held.

U.S. captain Brandt Snedeker said, "> They went out there and played great. They made a ton of putts. I feel like our guys hit a bunch of great putts and just couldn't find the bottom of the hole."

Key performances for the International side included Hideki Matsuyama and Sungjae Im, who posted three birdies in four holes to secure a 3&2 win, and Adam Scott with Christiaan Bezuidenhout, who took a 3&2 victory after a strong start. Ryan Fox and Min Woo Lee, Si Woo Kim and Tom Kim, and other pairings also contributed wins, completing the five-match sweep.

The U.S. pairings struggled; Scottie Scheffler and Sam Burns could not overcome Corey Conners and Nick Taylor, who won 1UP after a decisive short-range putt. Wyndham Clark and Collin Morikawa were the only Americans to record a win on the day.

Saturday will feature a double-header of four-ball matches in the morning and foursomes in the afternoon, followed by singles on Sunday. Snedeker noted that the competition is far from over, emphasizing the long weekend of golf that remains.
