Guardians clinch third straight AL Central title, credit depth
Cleveland. com reported that the Cleveland Guardians clinched their third consecutive American League Central division title on September 27, with manager Stephen Vogt saying the team’s depth helped it overcome injuries. The division crown followed a 1-0 victory over the Boston Red Sox on September 24 that secured a postseason berth and reduced the magic number to two, as coveringthecorner.
com noted. The win also set up a three-game series against the Kansas City Royals that would decide a first-round bye, Cleveland. com said.
